Want to learn about writing in a classroom environment? Here are a selection of local courses and classes.

Hagley Writers’ Institution runs a 20-week course spread across the school year. Classes are saturday mornings, 9.30-12.30. Students are formed into two groups, exposed to other writers, guest speakers, and introduced to a range of good writing. At the conclusion, they will be graded on their folios.
Applications close in late October.

School for Young Writers is also based at Hagley Community College. They are a not-for-proft organisation offering tuition to children anywhere in the world. Students must be aged between 8-18. Classes are on saturday morning, although there are also after school and correspondence options.
